In affiliation with the University of Arizona, Banner University Medicine is actively recruiting APBM certified Addiction Medicine specialists to join our medical team. Here you will be responsible for providing high quality patient care that meets or exceeds the standards and guidelines recommended by the Joint Commission and other regulatory and payer groups. This position will be working with an interdisciplinary team and ensuring the patients are getting the best possible care.

Position Detail:

The selected individual delivers exceptional care by practicing excellent clinical skills and demonstrating a passionate commitment to treating substance use disorders. The collaborative care team provides a full range of inpatient and outpatient services and works closely with the largest admitting medical toxicology service in the nation. The program supports medical students, residents, and two Addiction Medicine fellows per year. Therefore, an enthusiastic commitment to teaching is desired. The preferred candidate will also possess strong research interests, either in clinical research, basic science research, or translational research..

The qualified candidate will receive a faculty appointment at the University of Arizona consistent with their credentials, including a generous tuition discount for the applicant and immediate family members.

Work Schedule:

• M-F | 7a 5p
• Weekend consults as needed | No in-house overnight | Rotation schedule with team
• Telehealth for rural patients in collaboration with PCPs
• Patients per day varies, 40-60 minute intakes and complex followups, 20 -30-minute follow up appointments
• Up to 0.05 FTE dedicated teaching and research opportunity

Minimum Requirements:

• Primary specialty in Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, Pediatrics, or Emergency Medicine to complement our team (Currently have an FP and OBGYN providers)
• BC/BE by ABPM
• Fellowship-Training or Practice Pathway in Addiction Medicine
• Collaborative nature, skilled in relationship building
• Desire to work in an academic setting and engagement in teaching Residents and Fellows
• Highly qualified new graduates will be considered
