Atlas Construction Supply, Inc. is one of the leading companies for developing, manufacturing and distributing formwork solutions for all fields of the construction sector.

The CAD Drafter / Designer will develop and design safe, economical and efficient formwork solutions for clients. The Designer/Drafter prepares, modifies and maintains plans, designs, drawings, and schematics for components and systems.

This position performs moderately complex drafting tasks typically using computer equipment. Works from sketches, notes, and verbal instructions. Uses computer-aided design (CAD) systems to prepare layouts and drawings. Performs complex aspects of function; receives guidance/supervision on new assignments but normally works independently on mastered tasks.

Responsibilities

• Develop cost effective formwork and shoring solutions for clients
• Preparing formwork and shoring drawings for various concrete structures with AutoCAD
• Responsible for AutoCAD drawings during the proposal stage and finalize the working drawing to be used for jobsite
• Produce the following engineering documents: design layout drawings, assembly drawings, calculation sheets, material lists
• Interaction with the sales team and engineers to provide the most effective design solutions
• Responsible for estimating material cost and provide material lists for quotations and deliveries
• Collaborate with Sales and Operations department

Job Requirements

• Ability to read architectural and structural plans
• Minimum 1-3 years working experience in drafting
• Have a basic understanding of general drafting techniques and use of AutoCAD and Revit Drafting Software
• Proficiency in English (speaking, reading and writing)
• Well-developed analytical skills and technical proficiency
• Effectively manages multiple tasks and handles all responsibilities with a strong sense of urgency
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills
• Takes initiative, manages time effectively, and manages and adjusts priorities based on business demands
• Qualitative abilities including strong analytical skills, technical proficiency and effective problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, assertive, team player with a strong work ethic, able to work independently in a results-driven, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Formwork and Shoring Systems and/or Structural Engineering
• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent education
• Minimum 1-3 years working experience in formwork and/or structural engineering
• Knowledge and/or Experience in Civil/Construction/Structural fields and industry
• Ability to read and interpret plans and construction documents
• Strong computer skills including proficiency using Microsoft Office applications, (Word, Excel and Power Point)
• Willing and able to learn new computer systems, products, concepts and techniques
