SUMMARY:

The Outpatient Admissions and Compliance Advocate, reporting to the Clinical Supervisor, performs a vital role in our organization's admissions process, engaging and tracking clients who are mandated by the courts for treatment services. They are responsible for ensuring a smooth transition from initial contact to the beginning of treatment for clients seeking our services. They will engage with clients, collect essential information, verify insurance benefits, and facilitate admissions to outpatient programming and/or treatment court programming. This position is also responsible for various duties related to collection, processing, reporting, and recording of urinalysis samples on site for the purposes of treatment compliance and client accountability.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Receives incoming calls and provides information related to outpatient programming, ensuring their understanding of the agency and next steps.

· Gathers comprehensive client information, including demographics, insurance details, COVID vaccination status, drug of choice, level of urgency, motivation for treatment, and preferred treatment type (e.g., detox, residential, outpatient).

· Relays information related to court manted treatment and treatment court programming.

· Completes informed consent and other legal paperwork as required by law.

· Schedules assessments with appropriate providers and facilitates client’s use of tele-health technology when appropriate.

· Monitors and tracks the process of drug control testing according to the published schedule.

· Observes collection of urine samples from clients in accordance with established procedures for substance abuse testing protocol. 

· Adheres strictly to chain of custody in handling collection, samples, and information to ensure accuracy and consistency.

· Processes laboratory orders and posts results for providers in a timely manner while maintaining proper and efficient communication with staff. 

· Maintains a clean and sanitary UA restroom daily. 

· Assists and addresses all client concerns and questions regarding the UA process. 

· Maintains ordering of all testing supplies on a regular basis. 

· Processes all urinalysis documentation for scanning and provides reports to counselors as requested.

· Collects and maintains records and receipts for the purposes of invoicing.

· Maintains records of communication with clients for the purposes of referral follow up and compliance reporting. 

· Collects, audits, and enters laboratory (drug testing) data and all requisite patient information into the appropriate database (DIMS). 

· Communicates in a calm, respectful, and professional manner with all clients.

· Maintains ethical and confidentiality rules and regulations in accordance with SFRC policies and procedures and HIPAA and 42CFR Part 2.

· Completes all other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

1. Computer literate, including advanced knowledge of Excel and experience with electronic health records.

2. Ability to work in a cross-culture environment, understands the social and cultural context of the patients at SFRC. Understanding the role of trauma, historical, community, family, and personal in wellness and recovery.

3. Works well with diverse populations.

4. Must have and maintain a valid New Mexico driver's license, insurance, and a clean driving record.

5. Must be 21 years of age or older.

Education and Experience:

1. Associate degree or equivalent experience in detox and rehab facility, social services, or related Human Services field. 

2. Previous substance abuse treatment and/or medical setting is strongly preferred.

3. Bi-lingual/bi-cultural (Navajo/English) preferred.

4. Must have and maintain a valid New Mexico driver's license, insurance, and a clean driving record.
