Compensation

Job Responsibilities
Provide professional ASL interpretation for students in classroom and school settings to ensure full participation in lessons, discussions, and activities
Support teachers and special education teams in delivering accessible instruction
Adapt interpreting style to meet the communication needs of individual students
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the ethical standards of educational interpreting
Participate in team meetings, IEP discussions, and training sessions as appropriate
Requirements
Must meet South Carolina state certification requirements for educational interpreters or hold an EIPA score that meets state standards
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and a strong understanding of Deaf culture required
Previous experience interpreting in K12 school settings preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills, adaptability, and a commitment to student success
