Job Details We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Accountant or Senior Cost Accountant to join our dynamic team in the manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and collecting plant production costs, managing month-end closing, and ensuring that all financial reports are accurate and up-to-date. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, with a CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred. The candidate should also have experience working with ERP Systems, with SAP being highly preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze plant production costs, including labor, materials, and overhead costs.
- Manage month-end closing, including preparing and reviewing financial reports and ensuring accuracy.
- Analyze and report on inventory variances, including identifying and addressing any discrepancies.
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify best practices and process improvements in cost accounting.
- Monitor and report on the total cost per square footage of the plant, including identifying areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all accounting standards and regulations.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new financial policies and procedures.
- Provide support to the finance team as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, with a CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in cost accounting in the manufacturing industry.
- Experience working with ERP Systems, with SAP being highly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to collect and analyze large amounts of data.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.
