Position: DDA Nurse – Delegation for Residents (1099 Contractor) Location: Maryland Employment Type: Independent Contractor (1099)

Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate DDA Nurse with at least 2 years of experience in the DDA field to provide delegation services for our residents as a 1099 contractor. This role involves supervising and training Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in medication administration, health monitoring, and other delegated nursing tasks, ensuring the highest standard of care for all residents.
Nursing Delegation for Residents – Services Include (but are not limited to):
Initial and subsequent nursing assessments as indicated by the Maryland Board of Nursing pursuant to COMAR 10.27.11
Training on health topics and delegation of nursing tasks to Certified Medication Technicians (CMT) and/or Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA)
On-call services as agreed upon mutually by client and contractor
Annual review and updates, or as needed
Review and update of nursing care plans, lab work, notes from medical appointments, etc.
Monthly MAR and cycle medication review
Medication observations
Post-hospitalization evaluations
Correspondence with the client’s health care team as needed
Services do NOT include:
CMT MTTP 4-hour update or 20-hour initial MTTP training
Additional fee required for CMT recertification and certification
Delegating Nurse Responsibilities:
Be on-site to observe each resident at least every 45 to 90 days, as deemed appropriate
Be available on call as required by COMAR 10.27.11
Manage clinical oversight of resident care in the DDA residential setting
Issue nursing or clinical orders based on the needs of residents
Appropriately delegate nursing tasks or provide nursing consultation
Qualifications:
Current, active RN license in Maryland
Minimum 2 years of experience in the DDA field
DDA nursing certification and experience preferred
Demonstrated experience in delegation for residents with developmental disabilities
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
CPR/First Aid certification
