SCI , the leading executive search firm in the real estate industry, is seeking a seasoned, General Manager to oversee a large, urban portfolio for a 45+ year old developer/operator of affordable and market-rate multifamily, with a history of transacting on twenty thousand units.

Position will be part of a high impact, revitalization project - interfacing regularly with internal development/construction team.

Role will lead a team of employees including an Assistant General Manager, Maintenance Director, Residential Property Managers, Recertification Specialists, and various administration and maintenance staff.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Must know affordable housing (preferably NYCHA) rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with agencies such as DOB, HPD, DOHMH, & DSNY.
  • Maintain professional working relationship with residents, ownership, vendors, inspectors, regulatory agencies, etc.
  • Prepare annual budgets and identify variances in monthly/quarterly statements.
  • Prepare for and complete property and file audits/inspections and responses.
  • Maintains compliance with all Federal, State and Local rules and regulations including but not limited to LL52, LL84, & LL97.

Qualifications:

  • Numerous years of supervisory level affordable housing management experience.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to diplomatically handle direct interfacing with community leaders, politicians and tenant associations.
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager
