Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)
Reports To: Chief People Officer
Location: Lincoln, Nebraska Headquarters
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a trusted strategic partner to the leadership team of a private medical group. This role supports physicians, management, and both front office and clinical teams by aligning HR strategies with operational goals to drive engagement, development, regulatory compliance, and patient-centered performance.
Key Responsibilities Strategic PartnershipPartner with practice managers, department leads, and physicians to align HR initiatives with the group’s business objectives.
Provide guidance on workforce planning, staffing levels, and talent retention strategies.
Support leadership in fostering a positive, high-performing work culture across multiple locations and states.
Advise management on employee relations matters including corrective actions, investigations, grievances, and conflict resolution.
Ensure compliance with employment laws and healthcare-specific regulations such as HIPAA, OSHA, and state labor laws.
Maintain consistent application of HR policies and ensure they align with the organization’s values and professional standards.
Partner with hiring managers to develop staffing plans
Train and support hiring managers on talent acquisition activities to attract and hire qualified clinical and administrative staff, including physicians, nurses, and medical assistants.
Oversee onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
Support credentialing coordination and employment documentation for licensed staff.
Coach and train managers on performance evaluations, feedback conversations, and career development.
Identify skill gaps and collaborate on professional development plans for both clinical and non-clinical employees.
Support leadership training and succession planning for key roles within the practice.
Work with leaders to ensure HR policies and procedures are adopted and accurately reported (e.g., turnover, headcount, engagement).
Recommend data-driven improvements to strengthen organizational effectiveness.
Support policy updates, employee communications, and annual HR activities and audits.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Healthcare Management.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, including 2+ years in a healthcare or medical group setting.
Certification: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred.
Knowledge:
Understanding of medical practice operations and healthcare workforce challenges.
Knowledge of HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, and other employment and healthcare compliance laws.
Skills:
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
Strategic mindset with problem-solving skills and strong bias for action.
Ability to manage multiple complex priorities across multi-site and multi-state entities.
Proficiency in HRIS, Microsoft Office Suite, and HR analytics tools. ADP Workforce Now experience is preferred.
