The Communications team at Arthrex is growing and we are actively searching for a Photo Retoucher. This position will be located on our corporate campus in Naples, FL. Main Objective:

Using best practices, provide timely and consistent digital post-production services for all types of still photography assignments. Provide comprehensive on-set assistance for photo shoots at various locations, supporting the photographer as a digital tech and retouching advisor. 

  Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Choose selects of event, commercial, portrait, architectural, and product photos based on technical and subjective criteria.
  • Perform basic corrections on all types of imagery, including exposure, color-balance, sharpening, cropping, etc.
  • Perform advanced retouching on select images, including but not limited to: compositing, blemish removal on products and skin, special effects, corrections, color-grading, etc.
  • Perform final retouching for product photography and corporate headshots.
  • Accurately label images with part numbers, names and filenames.
  • Append appropriate metadata: keywords, descriptions, and custom fields.
  • Ingest images into a digital asset management system (DAM) following established guidelines and standards. 
  • Manage and fulfill clipping requests for product photos. 
  • Work closely with photographers and internal clients to provide all imaging services in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Receive and manage assignments through Arthrex service desk application.
  • Initiate tethered capture for photo shoots.
  • Manage and monitor incoming photos during photo shoots.
  • Make selections and corrections to images during photo shoots.
  • Troubleshoot capture and tether process when necessary.
  • Provide guidance on the feasibility of digital manipulations versus practical solutions onset.
  • When appropriate, assist with styling of products, props, and subjects to achieve the best possible final image.
  • Collaborate with cinematographers to achieve consistency between still and video imagery.
  • Local travel as necessary for location photo shoots, including indoor and outdoor Arthrex office and manufacturing locations, as well as offsite locations such as sports venues, parks, residences, etc. 
  • Occasional travel for location photo shoots which may require air or ground travel and hotel stays.
  • Create and manipulate images that can be used as backgrounds in the virtual production set.
  • Provide guidance for and collaborate on persepective and placement of backgrounds in virtual production. 
  • Reference physical products to replicate textures, patterns and colors.
  • In-office, Naples FL based position; not remote

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • BA Degree in photography, design, visual arts, or equivalent preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in digital photography post-production required.
  • Experience with a digital asset management system required.
  • Adobe Certified Expert in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom preferred.
  • Strong understanding of color management required.

  Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly skilled at photo manipulation and retouching.
  • Self-Starter.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent time-management skills and attention to detail.
  • Possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage and organize multiple projects and receive direction from multiple individuals in order to meet customer expectations.
  • Ability to evaluate technical aspects of digital images, image size, resolution, sharpness, color balance, exposure, etc.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC/Mac, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, Atlassian Jira.
