JOIN OUR TEAM AS A PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE Job Description Summary Employees in this class provide public health nursing services in a variety of settings, including but not limited to: lead, STI/HIV, Communicable Diseases, VFC, TB, Immunizations, and Children's Special Health Care Services and assume more complex caseloads. They assume charge responsibilities according to seniority, or as needed. Work is performed in the field and in health centers. Duties may include but are not limited to: assessing a wide variety of clients, formulating treatment plans, instituting nursing interventions, following through with medical interventions as outlined in written medical orders and protocols, making client referrals, evaluating patient outcomes; identifying community resources and developing community-based partnerships; participating in the Quality Improvement Committee work, interdisciplinary meetings, and other related group work. These employees may be exposed to clients with communicable or other types of illnesses. Employees must complete and participate in Emergency Preparedness efforts and training.
