At SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital, Jefferson City, we are looking for a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Endoscopy department.

Job Summary:

As a Registered Nurse in our Endoscopy department, you will provide direct patient care according to established protocols, ensuring the highest standards of nursing excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and monitor patient care plans, ensuring timely communication of patient conditions.
• Act as a primary coordinator among various healthcare disciplines to facilitate seamless patient care.
• Carry out physician and nursing orders with precision and care.
• Assess and address patients' discharge planning needs in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to meet patients' age-specific and clinical care needs effectively.
• Adhere to professional nursing standards and utilize the ANA Code of Ethics in all patient interactions.
• Maintain a constant state of alertness to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental operations.

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or equivalent education.

Experience:

• No prior experience is required; we welcome new graduates.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent communication through speaking and active listening.
• Constant movement, including standing and walking throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs frequently, and occasionally 25-50 lbs.
• Frequent visual acuity for detailed tasks and ability to distinguish colors.
• Utilize the sense of smell and hearing to ensure patient safety.
• Occasional driving and physical movements such as bending or twisting.

Licensure and Certifications:

For Illinois:

• Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association
• Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation

For Missouri:

• Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association
• Registered Nurse (RN) - Missouri Division of Professional Registration or Compact State

For Oklahoma:

• Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association
• Registered Nurse (RN) - Compact State or Oklahoma Board of Nursing

For Wisconsin:

• Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association
• Registered Nurse (RN) - Compact State or Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services
