We are seeking a motivated and experienced Remote Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. As a Remote Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing administrative and clinical support to healthcare providers and patients in a remote setting. You will be responsible for performing various tasks, including scheduling appointments, managing electronic health records, assisting with telehealth visits, and providing patient education and support. This position offers the opportunity to work from home and contribute to improving access to quality healthcare services.

Responsibilities

Scheduling and Coordination:

• Schedule appointments for healthcare providers and coordinate calendars.
• Arrange telehealth visits and ensure seamless communication between patients and providers.
• Manage appointment reminders and follow-up communication as needed.

Electronic Health Records (EHR) Management:

• Update and maintain patient records in electronic health record systems.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of patient information and medical history.
• Retrieve and review patient records as requested by healthcare providers.

Telehealth Support:

• Assist with telehealth appointments by coordinating virtual visits and providing technical support to patients.
• Facilitate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and other medical staff during telehealth visits.

Administrative Tasks:

• Handle patient inquiries and provide basic medical information or assistance.
• Process paperwork, including insurance verification, billing, and prescription refills.
• Assist with medication management and coordinate prescription refills as needed.

Patient Education and Support:

• Provide patient education and support for self-care, treatment plans, and medication adherence.
• Offer guidance on accessing healthcare resources and services.

Communication and Collaboration:

• Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient and coordinated patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant training program preferred.
• Previous experience as a medical assistant or in a similar role.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency in electronic health record systems and telecommunication tools.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and basic clinical practices.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a remote setting.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.
• Certification as a medical assistant (CMA) or registered medical assistant (RMA) is a plus.
