Summary

World Fuel Services is looking for an experienced Senior Tax Accountant responsible for assisting in income tax accounting calculations and support pursuant to ASC 740 for SEC reporting, as well as the preparation of tax provisions for local country reporting and related income tax compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepares necessary calculations, supporting workpapers and forms as required within the World Fuel Services organization for income tax provision, including but not limited to:
  • Quarterly income tax calculations for SEC reporting (ASC 740), including tax expense, return-to-provision adjustments, deferred and payable proofs and analytics.
  • Tax provision calculations to satisfy local country requirements (IFRS or local country GAAP) for assigned jurisdictions.
  • Foreign income tax compliance coordination for assigned jurisdictions.
• Coordination with Accounting and Finance departments, external global advisors, internal and external auditors, and others within the organization.
• Research various federal, state, and international income tax issues, as well as income tax accounting topics as needed.
• Assist with special projects.

Education and Experience Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in a corporate tax department of a multinational company, Big 4, or large public accounting firm in the income tax provision and compliance area
• Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task
• Ability to process large volumes of data with minimal errors
• Advanced knowledge of Excel required
• Extensive knowledge of OneSource Tax Provision software
• Alteryx Software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required, Master's degree in Taxation is a plus, but not required
• CPA or JD is a plus, but not required
