Sr. Cytogenetics Analyst - US Remote at Labcorp summary:

The Sr. Cytogenetics Analyst performs complex cytogenetic testing focused on oncology to analyze chromosomes, interpret results, and ensure accurate reporting for patient care. This remote position requires proficiency in laboratory procedures, troubleshooting, and use of specialized software and equipment. Candidates must have relevant degrees, certifications, and experience with cytogenetic analysis, as well as an ability to work independently and comply with HIPAA requirements for a home office.

Labcorp's Shelton CT office is seeking a remote Sr. Cytogenetic Analyst to join their team! The position will focus on Oncology Cytogenetics.

Work schedule: The schedule for this position is: Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 4:30PM

Please note: This position is remote with the possibility of work travel twice a year. Candidate can be located anywhere in the US. Must meet Work from Home requirements listed below.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.

• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot equipment, software and applications to ensure proper functionality.

• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.

• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care.

• Perform analysis of chromosomes, which includes imaging and karyotyping of cytogenetic specimens.

• Review test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysis.

• Summarize test results utilizing ISCN nomenclature.

• Distinguish between normal and abnormal test results.

• Perform and evaluate troubleshooting, document all corrective actions as needed.

• Comply with company policies and procedures.

• Maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.

• Minimum 4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience is required

• Experience in Oncology Cytogenetics is highly preferred

• Previous experience with cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized images is highly preferred

• ASCP certification in Cytogenetics (ASCP CG) highly preferred

• Ability to work independently and within a team environment

• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus

• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills

• Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen

• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Work From Home Requirements:

• The candidate must have a home office space that is a dedicated room, not shared with other people, and meets HIPAA compliance.

• Wired internet at a minimum speed of 100 mb/sec is required.

• The candidate must have the ability to work remotely effectively as required in a fast-paced, multi-site environment with a demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities and demands.
