This position requires the ability to (this is not a complete job description):

  • monitor and evaluate the work environment to ensure safety, quality, and productivity standards are achieved
  • maintain and support a preventative maintenance program
  • utilize and improve work order system to provide timely repairs to tools, machinery, equipment, and the facilities
  • coordinate projects with the Operations to ensure work is properly coordinated, approved, and completed in conformance with established priorities and procedures.
  • evaluates functionality and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by conferring with operating departments, identifying problems and requirements
  • design, quote, and create equipment/fixtures to aid production processes (structure, process, wiring, sensors).
  • modify current equipment/fixtures to update process requirements.
  • maintain effective communication with all departments and any applicable outside resources
  • ensure good housekeeping in all areas of the facility including maintenance, manufacturing, distribution, and common areas
  • maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • meet or exceed all performance and productivity standards
  • promote a safe and healthy work environment on all company property to achieve the best working conditions for all employees and visitors
  • stand, walk, lift, bend, stoop, and reach while handling material or products
  • ensure compliance with all regulatory and company policies and procedures
  • perform other assignments as requested or as business needs require
  • as an employee, demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with vendors, visitors and other employees

This position requires:

  • BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field, with proven experience in a textile manufacturing environment
  • familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise to include boilers, air compressors, motors, pumps, HVAC, etc.
  • knowledge of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and employee engagement processes
  • proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and AutoCad
  • the ability to create accountability and to lead by example
  • strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
  • the ability to manage multiple tasks and provide expected results
  • maintaining regular and predictable attendance
  • communicating effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
  • working cooperatively, courteously, and respectfully with all team members, vendors, and visitors
  • following verbal and written instructions
  • complying with company processes and procedures
  • successfully completing drug and background screenings
