\n\nMed/Surg RN Job Details – Decatur, TX\n

\n
• Location: Decatur, Texas 76234 (North Texas healthcare jobs)\n
• Facility: Main Campus, 4th & 5th Floor Med/Surg Units\n
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract (Start: 12/8/2025 – End: 3/9/2026)\n
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts)\n
• Hours per Week: 36\n
• Employment Type: Travel RN\n
• Weekend Shifts: Required\n

\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n

\n
• Active RN license (Texas or compact state)\n
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience\n
• Telemetry experience required\n
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS\n
• Strong time management and teamwork skills\n
• Ability to float to Inpatient Rehab, Emergency Department (ED), and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) as needed\n

\n\nMed/Surg RN Responsibilities\n

\n
• Deliver high-quality patient care to Med/Surg patients on designated units\n
• Monitor patients using remote telemetry, capnography, Alaris IV pumps, glucometers, and dynamaps\n
• Document assessments and care in Alterra (Allscripts) EMR system\n
• Assist with procedures including abdominal surgeries (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, colectomy), diagnostic procedures, paracentesis, thoracentesis, heart catheterizations, run offs, gastric sleeves, joint replacements, and orthopedic trauma repairs\n
• Initiate IVs and interpret cardiac rhythms\n
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team: RNs, LVNs, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), and charge nurses\n
• Maintain a positive, flexible, and team-oriented attitude\n
• Comply with unit policies, dress code (Medical City Blue scrubs), and attendance requirements\n
