Job Summary

The Hollow Metal Welder/Fabricator will work collaboratively with internal teams to fabricate and weld hollow metal doors, frames, and other related products. This role requires an individual who is detail-oriented, skilled in welding and metal fabrication, and has a solid understanding of Division 8 construction standards. This person will use their expertise to ensure high-quality products that meet industry specifications. Position Reports To

Production & Planning Manager

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and weld hollow metal doors, frames, and related products according to project specifications and Division 8 standards
• Weld 16-gauge cold rolled steel and 14-gauge galvanized steel
• Read and interpret work orders to determine appropriate welding and fabrication methods
• Finish grind and paint products
• Correctly use industry tools: saws, grinders, sanders, screw guns
• Ensure all work meets the required safety standards and follows best practices in welding and metal fabrication
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure seamless workflow and project execution
• Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition
• Conduct quality control checks on completed work to ensure adherence to specifications and standards
• Document work processes and maintain accurate records of production and materials used
• Participate in training and development activities to stay current with industry standards and new technologies
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance productivity and quality
• Check in items when received and mark job name
• Keep work area clean and organized

Addition Education/Skills Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certification in welding or metal fabrication preferred
• 3+ years of relevant experience in welding and metal fabrication, preferably in the construction or Division 8 industry
• Proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and arc welding
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and hardware templates
• Effective communication skills
• Self-motivated work ethic without the need for direct supervision
• Dependable and responsible
• Forklift experience is a plus
• Exemplify positive attitude, safety, and professionalism
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs.
• Familiarity with industry safety regulations (OSHA requirements)

Compensation

Salary Range: $50k - 60k, commensurate with experience
