Join Our Team as a Senior Linux System Administrator!
Are you passionate about managing and optimizing system performance in a dynamic technical environment? We're seeking a skilled professional to join our Managed Operational Support Services (OSS) team in Melbourne, Florida. As a Linux System Administrator (Sys Admin), you'll play a vital role in supporting software engineering efforts, ensuring the seamless operation of our systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Provision and manage virtual environments (VM) and install and configure Linux-based Red Hat Operating Systems to support the development of our OSS system.
Monitor and maintain system hardware performance, ensuring adherence to system design and architecture standards.
Manage system access user accounts and develop procedures for system configuration to support production builds.
Assist program teams with technical analysis, testing, and roll-out of new patches to ensure operational readiness.
Perform software installations, upgrades, and maintenance of RedHat and Windows operating systems and layered software packages.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues associated with enterprise systems.
Coordinate with vendors for issue resolution, service arrangements, and support.
Install and support internal development software and applications.
Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring data integrity and recoverability.
Conduct routine hardware and software audits for compliance with standards and guidelines.
Participate in on-call rotations and potential travel to disaster recovery sites during activation events.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT Security, or related field, with a minimum of 9 years of related experience. Or a Master's degree in the same fields with a minimum of 7 years of related experience. Alternatively, a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
Ability to obtain and maintain FAA Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience performing RPM builds for software packages.
Proficiency in complex infrastructure design, including planning interactions of multiple applications (e.g., HA, DB, Large Networks).
Expertise in scripting for automation of tools.
This is a contract role ending on 6/2/2024.
This position offers competitive compensation, ranging from $36 to $60 per hour depending on experience.
